Preventing Soiling of the Object to Be Printed On and Dot Drop-out

Removing the ink buildup on the print head surface before or during printing prevents soiling of the object to be printed on, dot drop-out, and dot displacement.

In the following cases, ink tends to collect on the surface of the print heads.

  • When you use an object to be printed on that is prone to a buildup of static charge

  • When the ambient temperature is low.

  1. Press MENU.
  2. Press several times to display the screen shown below.

    PERIODIC CL. Explanation
    PAGE Automatic cleaning is performed each time prior to the start of printing.
    5 to 990 MIN Automatic cleaning is performed each time prior to the start of printing. Cleaning is also performed during printing when the set time elapses. The color may become uneven because the printing is paused.
    NONE (Default settings) Cleaning during printing is not performed.
  7. Press ENTER to confirm your entry.
  8. Press MENU and then to return to the original screen.
    MEMO:

    Using PAGE or a value from 5 to 990 MIN results in longer printing times.
