Saving the Printed Job for Later Use

This section explains how to save the printing settings and information as well as the RIP processed data of a printed job to a file for later use.

With VersaWorks, you can save only the printing settings of the printed job to a file, save the printing settings and the printing data to a file, and save the file processed by the RIP. Then, you can reuse these files. This is useful when you want to use the same settings to print a job that has already been printed.

The types of files that can be saved are shown below.
  • VW job file

This file contains only the printing settings such as the job's source data information, the media width, the number of copies to print, and the profile. These printing settings can be applied to different printing data. This file takes up the least space.

  • VW job file, job + source data file

This file contains the VW job file, in which the printing setting information is saved, and the source data. Saving this file makes it possible to print the same data with the same printing settings again.

  • PRT native file

This file contains RIP processed data. Although this file takes up the most space, it reduces the processing performed by the computer and shortens the work time when printing the data again.
