Step 1: Print the Spot Color Chart

Procedure
  1. Right-click a job in the job list, and then click Nearest Color Finder.
    The spot colors included in the job are displayed on the Start Nearest Color Finder window.
  2. Select the spot color to adjust, and then click Start.
    Up to 10 colors can be selected.
    MEMO Click Change Print Quality to change the Quality item of the job.
    The Nearest Color Finder window appears. When multiple spot colors are selected, the closest matching color is set for each tab.
  3. Select one of the following for the color being adjusted.
    • Leave Specify Color to Match unchecked and proceed to step 4 if you do not want to specify a color to adjust.
    • Proceed to the next operation if you want to specify a color to adjust.
      1. Select the Specify Color to Match check box.
      2. Select the method for specifying the color.
        • Measure: Specify using a measurement instrument or by inputting the Lab value.
        • Library: Specify a spot color in a separate spot color library registered in VersaWorks.
        • Ink: Specify the color value.
  4. Specify the Chart Format.
    • Align for Visualization: Prints a chart with the swatches optimally arranged for visual comparison.
    • Align for Measurement: Prints a chart that can be measured by a measurement instrument for color charts.
  5. Specify the Chart Settings.
    • Swatch Amount

      Many: 7 swatches × 7 swatches × 5 pages = 245 swatches, Standard: 5 swatches × 5 swatches × 5 pages = 125 swatches, Few: 3 swatches × 3 swatches × 3 pages = 27 swatches. Select one of these options.

      IMPORTANT When Align for Measurement is selected, Standard will be selected.
    • Swatch Interval

      Select from Large, Standard, and Small.

  6. Click Print.
    The numbered nearest colors chart is printed. When printing is finished, a matching chart is displayed on the Nearest Color Finder window.
  7. If multiple spot colors are selected, switch tabs and perform steps 3 to 6 again to print charts for all of the selected spot colors.
